Preparations for the 2017 Senior Santas program are underway! This year, Friends Assisting Neighborhood Seniors hope to provide gifts for 500 local seniors in need.
Senior Santas provides Christmas assistance to senior citizens in need in Tarrant County. Through Friends Assisting Neighborhood Seniors. Senior Santas program, donors can give joy to a senior citizen in need during the holiday season. Every senior deserves to experience the joy of Christmas morning. Through Senior Santas, hundreds of local seniors will find gifts waiting under their Christmas trees.
Friends Assisting Neighborhood Seniors, Senior Santas program provides new clothing and gifts for senior citizens in need through the support of donors like you. Found in local companies and churches, Senor Santa tags with the first name, age and gender of a senior in need of gifts. Contributors choose one or more tags and purchase appropriate gifts for the senior described on the tags.
Once a senior has been registered, Friends Assisting Neighborhood Seniors make a promise to provide Christmas for that senior. This promise includes a variety of gifts for each senior. In order to accomplish this, Friends Assisting Neighborhood Seniors depend on the generosity of individual donors, corporations and organizations. We can provide a Merry Christmas to local seniors who would otherwise have not had gifts at Christmas.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Once seniors have been registered, Santa “tags” are printed with that senior’s name, age, gender, gift requests and a code number. Companies and organizations can participate in our Corporate Senior Santas program and adopt seniors to hang on a tree at their workplace, school or church. You can also visit selected area businesses or church to adopt a senior. After the senior’s gifts have been purchased, they are returned to Friends Assisting Neighborhood Seniors where they are sorted by their unique code numbers and distributed to the families.
The Senior Santas program allows community members to fulfill the wish lists of low-income seniors in the area, who may not be able to fulfill those lists on their own.
